Outside slot and I still can't get full reach so I will only be able to use about 3-1/2 inches of the thing.

Finally decided to see what I could do about using the table keys with the vise. They were too big to fit the tee slots. I was afraid they were hardened. I found I could easily notch one with a file so decided to try milling them to fit the slots. Here's one done and the other not.
